How To Clean Suede
If you want to clean suede shoes or bags at home you need the following items:
– good quality eraser (ordinary pencil)
– suede special brush (it has very strong bristles)
– damp cloth
– white wine vinegar
First, use an eraser to carefully rub the stains (not to ruin the material). Brush suede material with a special brush. Pour a little vinegar on a damp cloth and rub the stains with it, then let it dry. Vinegar smell may persist for a few days after cleaning.
If suede has an oily stain, try to use talcum powder to absorb the oil. Sprinkle powder over the stain and let it work overnight, then scrub with a special brush.
Another cleaning technique is to put the stained object over a pot of boiling water. The steam will soften and hydrate the suede, which you can clean it after with the same special brush.
